San Bennanamo February 20 George A Jessrang once Deputy Assessor and arson convict to serve ten years at San Quentin will be moved to the pen tomorrow after his attorneys withdrew a motion for probable cause. Identity revealed Thomas Shaw death identified as Major Walter C Fitzgeorge a San Francisco accountant and saloon servant. Baltimore sailor deaths claim against Chilean government anticipated for indemnity.
Benson reports a half million dollar project to rebuild eight miles of Southern Pacific track near Ochoa after washouts and cameron damage. Meanwhile Portland notes the arrest of Robert N. Russell, freight depot cashier of the Northern Pacific, on forgery and embezzlement charges. In St Louis a convention opened with remarks from National Alliance leaders Polk Powderly and Tynaties Donnelly.
P Murphy president of the Inter-State Artificial Rain Company announces start of rainmaking operations. A two story building has been completed and farmers have contracted Linders & Borders of Tulare for over forty thousand acres of grain, with the company remaining under contract.
The Reno Lyceum's next meeting is Friday March 4 not February 25. John R B Farrell of San Rafael California will lecture on The Great American Desert with an entertaining talk. The minstrel afterpiece features thirty performers with music, songs, dance, and costumes under Hyman Fredrick.
