Convicts Escape Attempt Ends in a Killing at San Quentin
At San Quentin California on November 29 two convicts attempted to escape by scaling the balcony but were spotted by a guard who fired when they refused to halt. One convict Joseph Marshall was killed and Billy Miner was wounded and recaptured. The prisoners had drilled through their cell door and planned to escape with improvised gear.
