Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1851 Wisconsin Observes Thanksgiving
The Wisconsin proclamation salutes Providence for exemption from pestilence and bloodshed, declares gratitude for free institutions and peace, and urges citizens to abstain from secular work on the fourth of November. It requests public worship and thanks to God for blessings and prosperity. Madison dated October 25, 1851, signed by Governor Alexander W. Randall.

Lands will be offered at public auction at the Capitol in Madison on December 6, 1829, starting 9 a m, with terms including taxes, advertising costs, and 10 percent minimum down payment, conducted by the commissioners and arranged alphabetically.
