Woman Shot by Soldier at Newport Barracks

A young sailor named Kelly shot Agnes Hill at Newport Barracks after an evening with her. He loaded his gun in his room and fired, wounding her mortally near the groin. Dogherty stood nearby to shield him. Kelly, Galway native, confessed and was arrested after officers found a discharged gas cartridge missing from his pouch.
