Great Fire at the Kent and Essex Wharfs London Bridge

A massive blaze at Alderman Humpherys Kent and Essex wharf near London Bridge devastated the Kent and Essex wharf and adjoining properties. Fire engines from multiple stations rushed to the scene, but the structure burned completely, with investigations later suggesting spontaneous combustion of bales of waste or shoddy as a probable cause. No exact origin could be established, though extensive water use and coordinated efforts by firemen and police were praised.
