The funeral for Mrs Mary Fullriede wife of Loula Fullriede who died last Sunday in this city was held at Pauls Evangelical Church at 1 oclock Rev Dorneell presiding. Interment followed at Lutheran cemetery. She was 56 years old, widow of Louis Rauch and mother of three children including the eldest daughter. Typhoid fever caused her death. husband and three children survive with two brothers and many friends in attendance.

Edward Nix a former resident and well known here died of yellow fever in Havana Cuba at 6 am Saturday October 6 He held a government post there with two of his sons at his side His wife three sons and two daughters reside in DeLand Florida and one brother Sam Nix lives in Edwardsville His remains were interred in Havana and a son Ralph recovered enough to be out of hospital and convalescing

Runaway Mule Team Disrupts Depot and Mill Area
A mule team owned by Wan Schultze hauling macadam for the city bolted from the depot Tuesday morning, smashing posts under Bennet Craft & Zenk’s elevator shed, crossing the old mill pond dam, and tearing through the woods before capture near the Troy mine. Damages were minor to harness.
