The appeal notes generous responses and reports cash receipts of 807 to date.
The Earl of Strafford, who married Mrs Samuel J Colpate in Grace Church New York, was decapitated and mangled after falling onto the rails as the Cambridge express arrived at Potter’s Bar. He was sixty eight and had served as equerry to the queen. The inquest and family titles follow, with estates in England and London Millwall holdings.
