The New Wrinkle was a financial and social success held in the church basement on Thursday evening. Scholars earned a dollar each and shared verse experiences. poetry was bound and sold, netting a neat sum. Ice cream and cake were served as the gathering concluded with appreciation for the ladies who helped.

A Great Improvement Acetylene Light Arrives in City
M F Auwarter led the way as the first to install the new acetylene light system. A. P. Mossmann of Highland, who serves seven counties in the state and seven in Missouri, installed ten jets at the general store, delivering a bright, clean, and economical illumination that drew crowds and prompted others to consider similar upgrades. Mossmann reports up to twenty five orders and six workers busy across multiple counties.
