Twenty five railroad cars were blown off track along the Iron Mountain line.
St Louis report states Emil A Meysenburg, city council member, was found guilty of bribery by a jury after 40 minutes of deliberation in Judge Douglass court. He faces three years in the penitentiary with a $5,000 bond. The verdict was unanimous, and a motion for a new trial was announced. Circuit Attorney Folk warned the decision could deter bribery prosecutions.
In Emporia Kansas on March 28 Stephema G. Conkling of Emery & Conkling shot and fatally wounded his divorced wife, seriously wounded his mother in law Mrs Silvers, and killed himself with the remaining two bullets. The tragedy followed a divorce suit at the last term of court.
