Omaha Neb March 31 Plans for state buildings at the Transmississippi exposition are coming in rapidly with Minnesota Montana Arkansas Denver Missouri Illinois Wisconsin Nebraska and Georgia among those advancing. Thirty five states have decided to participate and at least five more expected to organize soon. Construction accelerates in main court bluff track and midway as the great 500 foot long government building rises with a 200 foot dome. annexes planned to handle exhibit space.

Yellow fever outbreak on Strabo ship claims captain ill

The steamer Strabo from Rio Janeiro arrived in New York with one crew member dead from yellow fever and Captain Jardine infected but recovering. A second crewman, Henry Kearton of Liverpool, died March 2. The ship faces strict quarantine, fumigation, and thorough disinfection in port with no other illnesses reported.
