Fresno readers hear of fruit exhibit car and other notes
The Fresno Republication column recalls Santa Clara county fruit growers sending an exhibit car through eastern states to showcase California produce. It critiques San Francisco policing over a stolen “Fair will” and references a Chinese girl sold into slavery, habeas corpus, and a plea for accountability. Other items note Southern Pacific freight-rate battles and a Paris revolution anecdote.
