Mabel Rawson Rites Mark Sobering Troy Death
Miss Mabel Deering Rawson eldest daughter of Mrs. Margaret Rawson and the late Samuel Rawson died Monday at 2 30 PM at her Troy home after seven months illness. Born November 9 1877 in Troy she pursued schooling in Troy Parks then St Louis High School and taught in St Louis and Troy schools. Engaged to John F Deimling their marriage was to have occurred last February but was postponed by illness. Funeral Wednesday at 11 AM from the Center street home to the Presbyterian church followed by interment in Troy cemetery. The service featured a quartet and a sermon from Revelation 13 14. Numerous out of town relatives attended.

St Pauls Evang Lutheran School Holds Annual Picnic
Wednesday marked a gala day for St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran school as the annual picnic drew large crowds. The day featured a Schultze Cornet Band on the square, a procession to Jarvis Grove with games, speeches and prize contests, a flag drill, and a queen crowning by trained girls under Prof Kellermann. A seven month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Wolf of St Louis died Sunday of convulsions. funeral held Tuesday in BlackJack with Rev Marten officiating.

Judge John G Irwin Dies at 61 in Edwardsville
Judge John G. Irwin, prominent Edwardsville lawyer and Civil War veteran, died at his home after a lengthy illness due to Bright's disease and dropsy. Born January 21, 1842, he served in the Ninth Illinois Infantry, was wounded at Fort Donelson, and later practiced law with several partners. Survived by his second wife Luella Nichols, he was a Republican with Prohibitionist sympathies, noted for integrity and public service. Funeral was held Wednesday in Edwardsville with simple services at the Presbyterian church and interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
