Spanish Troops Clash with Rebel Parties Near Puerto Principe

Robbers Hold Up Missouri Express Train Near Independence

Train No 49 on the St. Louis and Kansas City line was halted near Independence by masked robbers who boarded the engine and forced the engineer and fireman to the baggage area. They uncoupled the express and baggage cars, looted lightly, and fled east in the locomotive with two cars, while a posse pursued toward Glendale. No final tally of loot or car status is yet known.
