Nicaragua Canal Cost Estimates Reported for Future Senate Review

New York December 24 The preliminary report of the Nicaragua Canal Commission led by Gen. Hain Admiral Walker and Prof Haupt is ready and will be laid before the Senate committee during the Christmas recess or immediately after. It details projected earthworks including 85 million cubic yards in the western division and 75 million in the San Juan river cuts, with total excavation approaching 115 to 125 million cubic yards and overall cost projections running into the hundreds of millions.
