Dowie and His Healing Work at Chicago Auditorium
The Rev. Alex Dowie, a large powerful figure, preaches in Chicago and runs healing meetings from a tabernacle on Sixty-third Street. He distributes admission tickets, offers free treatment with board charges, and claims cures through faith. Reports cite numerous patients healed or improved, with some physicians abandoning regular practice to follow Dowie’s methods.
