A New York State doctor aged 109 offered his services to the President and wishes to join the army as a surgeon. He reads without glasses and walks 15 miles daily. The advertisement extols Hostetter's Stomach Bitters as the best remedy for indigestion, dyspepsia, constipation, fevers, and bad blood, claiming one bottle does much good.
Quips about barbers and clever wordplay appear in a miscellany of jokes and ads. A promotional note touts Allen’s Foot-Ease for foot comfort, while a civic remark jokes about a young Mig-Toy gaining a government post for a handsome salary. Also advertised are Laxative Bromo Gaine tablets and light housekeeping wisdom.
