Township Election Shows Strong Turnout and Party Split
In last Tuesday’s township election a high turnout produced mixed results. Republicans won Clerk and several posts, including Assessor and Justice of the Peace, while Democrats carried others such as Highway Commissioner and School Trustee. Notable vote totals include Kiesel 285 for Clerk, Watt 206 for Assessor, and Eakert 316 for Justice of the Peace, with Republicans showing a stronger showing in several races and overall plurality in some contests. Long-term observers note Republicans held a slight edge, though cross-voting and scattered ballots affected margins.
