Voters faced a tense election day as public streets hosted livestock displays in the afternoon. A dry day gave way to underway supplies and a southeast township delegation of Indians appeared for the first time since the last election. Some voters waited past closing time to cast ballots.
Voters filled the polls today in Jarvis township with 492 total votes cast and lively activity from Main to Market Streets. Republicans offered no candidate for Constable as J E Hinmarck campaigned. activity peaked in the afternoon with farmers prominent among supporters.
The crowd cheered as vote tallies were announced for several offices. For Supervisor J W Garnet Rep led over S L Avis Dem 243 to 231. Town Clerk H A Canedy Rep 262 over Robt Holliday Dem 150?.
