George A Killick of Dawson Creek leads the Chetwynd Hotel alterations with work set to start within ten days. A 30 room west wing extension is deferred to a later phase. Changes cover restaurant and kitchen, washrooms, ladies beverage room, lobby, and extra space for a Royal Bank of Canada branch. Local subtrades and labor will carry out the project.
Gary Moore found the air scoop ripped from his engine and other damage after a yearling bear tore at the grill mistaking its honey comb-like appearance for a meal. No honey found. travel to Hudson Hope delayed for Gary and Billy Robertson who rode trucks around the route.

While excavating the reservoir on the beach north of town rock was found in the last few feet. The shale formation was removed by a DY Cat and will form an excellent base for floor and walls. The view from the site is exceptional.
Construction crews building the ferry cable tower near Hudson Hope traveled via Chetwynd on Tuesday and planned to start at the site on Wednesday with completion expected after two weeks. The ferry would likely be out of operation until June 7th at the earliest.
