Amalgamation Plans Delayed for Village and Waterworks District

Road bans lifted districtwide amid partial road closures
Road bans across the district were lifted this week for normal traffic. The Hudson Hope route remains closed beyond Moberly Lake for at least a week. The Peace ferry is not yet operating but expected to start once roads reopen. A bridge progresses and should be ready this Fall.

Chetwynd Golf Club elects 1964 officers and sets dues
At the annual meeting held in the clubhouse last Saturday evening the same officers were re elected for 1964. Marcel Lamarre is president Ray Rebagliati is vice president Jack Mansfield treasurer Clara Dorash secretary. Directors include Ralph Tod Norm Stirling Harry Beamer Gary Moore W Williams and Frank Oberle. Dues fixed for shareholders associate members and casual players with specific amounts for men ladies juniors and jurors. Green fees for casual players set at 1.00 per day. Fees collected via locked box in clubhouse on an honour basis.

Safety Director Harry Beamer credits a multiyear program for only four accidents this year at Fort St John operations in Chetwynd Hudson Hope and Stewart Lake versus 13 at the same point in 1963. Nelson Wheeler and Beamer led first aid training and safety efforts.
