Men's Bonspiel Ends Curling Season With 16 Rinks Competing
A cold snap spurred a quickly arranged men only bonspiel last weekend with 16 rinks in a double knockout format. Ken Woods led his rink to a 16 to 6 win over John Hayward in the A event final, while Firemen skip Ted Gerstel claimed the Consolation 9 to 5. First prize went to Woods rink for fishing rods and reels. Hayward’s team won electric lanterns, and Firemen took thermos flasks.
