Grade 11 proposed for Chetwynd students next fall

Chetwynd plans to offer Grade 11 next fall if a survey shows enough students. Parents and pupils will be interviewed to record desired courses and availability. Architects are already at work on four new classrooms south and east of Windrem School, designed to join into a future high school unit. Superintendent Flowers will conduct the survey and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

Car Plunge Near Willow Flats Leaves Family Injured

A night crash on the Hart Highway three miles east of the Willow Flats Pumping Station left Lloyd Umperville of Prince George and his wife seriously hurt. Their twins, under a year old, were later found under baggage in the back, and all were rushed to Dawson Creek hospital. Mrs Umperville recovered, husband were in hospital, twins released. Collision occurred around 1 00 a m as the car rolled end over end down a 150 foot embankment.

Sewer financing lined up despite austerity program

Villeve Council plans interim financing up to 170000 for the new sewer project approved by owner electors. Debentures will cover long term costs. two financial houses show interest. Engineers Alan Ker & Associates of Victoria will oversee construction with bids to be called after April 8. Target completion set for September 1 to allow NH housing plans. Central Mortgage and Housing officials in Vancouver have indicated loans for Chetwynd once contracts are signed.
