Nine year old George Minaut of Chetwynd drowned after his bicycle went into the Pine River near Twidwell Bend ferry. Four witnesses described conflicting events. a three mile river search yielded no body at press time.
The tank delivery truck owned by Ralph Tod of Imperial Oil and driven by Melvin Culbert left the road near the PGE crossing on the Hart Highway about 12 miles east of here. Culbert was bruised and shaken but released from hospital, while RCMP plan to file charges as the exact cause remains under study.
