Premier W A C Bennet will start the world’s largest conveyor at Portage Mountain on July 31 to move 60 million cubic yards of fill for a dam project. The 3 mile belt runs 54 inches wide at 1100 feet per minute with 7000 cubic yards per hour, built by Canada Iron Vancouver and Pohlig Heckel Blei cher Cologne.
