Provincial voters list closes August 3 for September 30 election
Voters must check if their names appear on the provincial election list. The registrar Mrs J Grant will help add names for those not listed, at her home opposite the Hydro Motel in the coming days. The law allows 19 year olds who are qualified and on the list to vote.

Hydro hires 25 to clear Chetwynd Dawson Creek line
Local construction office of B C Hydro took on twenty five men on Monday to begin slashing and clearing the right of way for the new line from Chetwynd to Dawson Creek. Work will start from the Chetwynd end this morning and from the Dawson Creek end later. G Bill Risk leads the operation Pat Quibel handles engineering and Ernie Portman clearing. Clearing is expected to take about two months.
