Village Commissioner Breitkreitz resigns from Chetwynd post
Village of Chetwynd Public Works Chairman Commissioner Emil Breitkreitz resigned last weekend citing dissatisfaction with by laws and regulations changes. He said he lost support after votes against his views and an election will be needed to fill the vacancy. Public Works Superintendent Ron Drysborough also resigned to take work in the Terrace district.

Chetwynd Rodeo Dates Set for June 12 13
The Chetwynd Rope and Saddle Club announces the rodeo on Friday and Saturday June 12 and 13 at the new grounds on the village east end. Five Injured in Two Separate Vehicle Crashes
Two separate crashes left five people injured in the past days. In East Pine Hill a car led by Larry B. Draper collided around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. four of eight youths were hospitalized with a fractured wrist the only serious injury. On Hart Highway near Progress a rear end crash involved Rev. P. Schnarrenberger and Mary Ann Werner. Schnarrenberger sustained facial lacerations and bruises with teeth damage. Investigations are ongoing by the Chetwynd and Dawson Creek detachments.

Village issues two building permits totaling 21000 dollars
The Village Office records show two permits approved total 21000 dollars. Frank Obele will build a 19000 dollar dwelling on the lot beside the Village Office, and John Rainer obtained a 4000 dollar permit for an extension to the Speed Queen Automatic Laundry. The addition will sit directly in front of the current structure.
