Complete vote tallies show Taft and Carroll winning majorities in Hamilton County races. Notable margins include Heywood for secretary of state and Bleakley for auditor, with various county offices and a coroner race also listed. An election supper by the Christian church society supported the event.
Two school literary groups, the Philomathians and Zethagathians, held a Monday debate in the high school assembly room on municipal versus private street railway ownership. The negative, Alonzo Hathaway Louise Brietenkamp and Ralph France, won over the affirmative led by Bessie Bickford Alta Bailey and Ralph Marvel. The program included musical numbers and orderly election night with only one in jail.

The jury was empanelled yesterday afternoon for the Butler case. Louis Young, the prosecuting witness, testified as the first witness. The Royal Neighbors of America lodge held a successful children’s entertainment in the Hamilton County Bank building with a pennant from Rock Island displayed. Mrs S B Bair gave a history of the pennant as about 150 people enjoyed the program and supper.
