Des Moines reports early tallies from the Iowa primary. Cummins leads with about 91 000 votes to Savage's 48 000, Clarke tops for governor at 71 000 with Lee at 36 000 and Rowley 18 000, giving Clarke a 17 000 vote edge and a 35 000 plurality.

Sidney M. Wise, who left Webster City three years ago for Oregon and now in Ashland, arrived back yesterday. He may stay permanently yet undecided.
