A boy was shot after stealing paint and a brush from the coal house.
Nis Nissen a 90 year old Danish farmer from Cedar Falls died at Fredsville early Saturday from overexertion after celebrating his sixty fifth wedding anniversary. The jubilee event drew about four hundred people and a religious service followed by a large reception. His wife aged 86 remains in precarious condition.
Joseph Miller, a well known farmer near Iowa City, lost his arm in a corn shredder he operated. His mangled arm was amputated at Kalona after the machine gripped his hand and dragged the arm to the shoulder. He recovered enough to drive home, with spectators noting the horrific scene.
Bedford district court closed its November term with several damages decisions. Mrs Emma Bubb sued her parents in law Nicholas and wife for $15000 alleging alienation of affection and husband’s desertion. Jury awarded her $800.
The administrator of the late Carl H. Peterson sues the city of Burlington for $10,000 damages. The action stems from the dynamite explosion that killed Peterson in the city stone quarry.
