Indoor lawn party by the Aid Society at the National Church parlors was a grand success. School board meeting in District No 6 of Wauwatosa on Sept 18 appointed Michael G Winter and noted Ferdinand Sasse’s resignation. Dr J W Cairn laid cement sidewalk at his residence. Feutzer also added. North Side alarm prior to 4 p m prompted a fire drill. A fire started at Albert North residence on North Avenue end, discovered promptly by the firemen.

Common Council Act on Finances Fire Dept Requests and Street Lamps
The Common Council met with Mayor Hoyt presiding. A tax estimate for the coming year was referred to the finance committee. The fire chief requested more clothing for men, referred to the fire committee. Heating pipes for City Hall were directed. Al Breed moved for eleven incandescent lamps on several streets, rules suspended and resolution adopted. Bids for First avenue improvement awarded to D T Pilgrim Jr. Contract prices listed. Council adjourned.

Town Board Fills Vacancy As Seefeld Resigns
The Town Board met in the Dittmar building with Supervisors Startung Siegfried and Clerk Uradley. Maury F Seefeld resigns and G B P Dousman is appointed to the vacant supervisor seat. Tax estimates show a reduction of about 2 percent from 1899 to 1900 with city purposes levy dropping from 24 780 to 19 163.
