The column lists visits and travels of local residents and guests from Milwaukee to Saylesville as well as social events. It notes the City Lockup relocation, committee meetings, and upcoming church and school activities with dates in June and community gatherings, plus marriages and fishing trips among area residents.
A citizens meeting Tuesday formed a committee led by J J Godfrey and Dr J S Cutter to arrange a Fourth of July event. The group met at city hall to assign sub-committees for grounds, games, publicity and reworks while granting Wauwatosa the privilege to serve ice cream per a request by the Women’s group.
The Woman's club held its annual meeting on Thursday June 1 at the Sand. Officers were elected with Miss Miriam Most as president and Mrs J Kei as secretary. Considerable business was transacted including approval of an annual picnic. Mayor Godfrey's offer regarding the manual training department was accepted with thanks from the class. Miss Warren read an engaging paper on Italian Libraries and their Treasures.
The W L G prepared for Memorial Day with a good road and muddy conditions. The parade left the building late and did not return until noon. Thanks to Mr J D Hoyt, a new 10 by 22 foot flag was flown over the armory, placed at half mast until noon, then raised to full mast for the evening.
