Tomorrow marks the first day of the Saenperfest, a two three day singing festival, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the North Wisconsin Saengerbund. Organizers report elaborate preparations, star lineups including Macunerchor and Liederkranz chapters, and a big turnout expected with trains bringing attendees from Appleton to Marshfield.
Wausau enjoys festive preparation as arches are erected and businesses decorate for the Saenger Festival season. Local shops post holiday displays and residents align with seasonal celebrations.
Streets glow with arches and canvased stonelike blocks at Third and Scott and Washington and Third as Janke & Weisse build wooden arches bearing mottos. J P Thiex paints lettering. At the fair grounds carpenters rush to erect stands and booths for the Saenger festival opening tomorrow.

Lyons orchestra plans a furious Fourth performance at Bowery Fairgrounds seven rounds park in the evening at Sternbere's. Columbia brass bands play during the day at the park Ed Lee, stationed at Knowlton, expected to return home today.
Bright colors will light Third Street and other main streets by tomorrow as homes and flags are set out. Miss Minnie Zahn travels to Tomah to visit Miss Mabel Pietz at her home today.
