Thousands of Waukeshans are expected to attend Memorial Day services Thursday weather permitting. A parade is planned at 1640 hours with marching groups assembling at 9:00 AM on N Grand Avenue in front of the Michael Yaudt Co. plant. The procession will march north on Grand to South Street and then east toward Cutler Park for services honoring veterans from all wars. World War II veterans are slated to appear in uniform for the first time in the Memorial Day parade, with Austin J. Baird chairing arrangements.

Two Receive Injuries as Cars Meet on Hill
Two people sustained minor injuries after a head on collision on Highway 36 near Durham Kime Tuesday night. Arthur Verhalen, 25, of Hales Corners Route 2, and Abe DeBack Jr., 42, of Union Grove, suffered cuts and bruises as both cars were demolished. Verhalen, trying to avoid the oncoming car, swerved and struck DeBack’s vehicle, then left the road, overturned, and hit a telephone pole.

Highway Shops Plan Approved Near Waukesha
Approval by the Civilian Production administration permits a 75 000 expansion for the Waukesha county highway shops northwest of the city. A 70 by 225 foot steel and concrete maintenance shop and stock warehouse will adjoin the current building on Highway 0 three miles northwest. Purple Heart finally awarded after 27 years to veteran Claude Putnam
