City officials sought to reroute Hy 18 from White Rock Brookfield avenue to E Main street but the state highway commission rejected the plan. The commission cited Hy Y financing and standardization concerns and warned it would withdraw from the project if pursued. Car Topples Injures Two Men at Auto Parts Yard

A Waukesha man remains in hospital with possible back injuries after a car fell on him when a wrecker chain broke at Main Auto Parts Co. Gerald Miller, 26, of route 4, is in tafe condition. coworker James Cresca, 28, of The Strand, narrowly escaped serious harm as the car grazed him. Cresca received emergency care for facial contusions and abrasions at Memorial hospital and was later released. The accident occurred at 11:11 am today while workers were attempting to tow a 1887 Pontiac into the building. The wreck broke the chain and the car toppled.
