HODIAK Alaska coast guard cutter Bittersweet reached the 119 foot cannery tender Tootsie trapped in Arctic ice 80 miles north of Port Heiden. After a 24 hour dash through heavy ice and a rising storm the cutter began cutting free the vessel and its three aboard, guiding a path 25 miles west to Port Seiden.
