Matt Gebhardt, 52, of Waukesha Route 4, faced a charge of driving while intoxicated with bail set at 100 dollars after his arrest in Brookfield. Jack Moore, 13, of Eagle Route 1, was charged with being drunk after being found prowling around Eagle Lake. his case was continued to Friday with bail set at 25 dollars as investigations into his drinks continued.

Local Man Ernest Pagel Found Dead in Hotel Room
Ernest Pagel a 66 year old laborer from Waukesha was found dead in his room at the Coma hotel this morning. Police said death appeared to be a heart attack. Pagel was discovered by Thomas Davis who went to wake him about 9 20 am. A physician pronounced him dead and the coroner was notified. Pagel had complained of chest pains yesterday and had been receiving treatment for a heart ailment. He had been staying at the hotel for about a year.

Ray mond Gerth of Mukwonago is charged with four counts of making false statements to obtain unemployment benefits totaling 2038 while earning 30 to 125 a week at Speich Co in Milwaukee. County agent J. F. Thomas reports a drought hampers the hay crop across southern Wisconsin with temperatures 4 to 12 degrees above normal. The west end is hardest hit due to sandy soil, with many farmers quitting plowing as dust rises. Scattered northern showers were light and rainfall near the Wisconsin Illinois border was negligible.
