Steel Drum Explosion Injures Local Student Worker
Thomas Edward Warner Jr 24 of the Metropolitan church narrowly escaped serious injury when a steel drum he was welding exploded blowing him to the pavement. He suffered a deep 3 inch cut on the forehead and was treated at Waukesha Memorial hospital, condition described as good after overnight observation. The drum, an old antifreeze container, had alcohol residues and ignited by the torch, sending debris across the church yard and playground nearly 400 feet away. Warner is a former army corporal and son of the church garage supervisor.
