Two major Waukesha dairies to reduce milk prices by one cent per quart for home delivered milk from 21 to 20 cents and for store milk. Several local grocers to pass savings to customers as other dairies watch developments. This follows prior reductions in half gallon and gallon sizes amid a Milwaukee area milk price war.
The International Council of Christian Churches challenged Methodist Bishop Lloyd C. Wicke to prove his charges against Sen. Joseph McCarthy Rep Harold H Velde and Rep Donald L Jackson. The ICCC denounced his claim that some congressmen are "psychological cases" and accused him of prejudice. Wicke heads regional Methodist conferences and spoke at a Pittsburgh meeting.
Robert W. Kemper died on Saturday in Napa California at about age 40. He is survived by his wife the former Dorothy Gibson of Waukesha his two step sons Donald and Richard his parents and several brothers and sisters.

In St. John's Cathedral Winnipeg a "phantom organist" puzzled two clergymen and 10 parishioners as the organ allegedly played itself for 20 minutes during Sunday service. Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, 57, Pulitzer Prize winning novelist, died of a cerebral hemorrhage at Flagler hospital in Augustine after admission Friday. Born Aug 8, 1836 in Washington, D.C., she studied at the University of Wisconsin and wrote The Yearling which earned the 1939 Pulitzer Prize.

In Friendship Wisconsin 42 year old George Graff of Wisconsin Dells murdered his mother in law Anna Sobojinski 69 with buckshot from a 12 gauge shotgun then shot himself with a Japanese army .31 caliber rifle after firing on his brother in law John Zouski at a cottage and tavern. An inquest ruled murder followed by self inflicted death.

Florizel Reuter the concertmaster of the Wau kesha Symphony, 62, fractured and dislocated his right ankle after slipping on a snowy sidewalk near Broadway. He lives at 430 Madison St and was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital by ambulance with his wife.
