Wiretap Evidence Admissible In State Courts, Court Rules
The Supreme Court ruled that wiretap evidence obtained in violation of federal law is admissible in state court proceedings. The 8 to 0 decision, written by Justice Tom Clark, notes federal rules ban such evidence in federal trials since 1937, but state courts may admit it subject to consideration of federal and state loyalties. Justice Minton wrote the majority opinion with separate concurrence by Justices Frankfurter and others. Justice Jackson did not participate. The decision also struck down Oklahoma’s non Communist oath for teachers and public employees.

Burglars gained entry Sunday by forcing a rear window at 15 W. St Paul Ave and opened an office safe. They dragged the safe to a rear room, knocked the combination, and took cash, despite the tear gas inside. Patrolman Roy Donahoe found the break at 11:58 pm after smelling fear gas. Alfred Garvens, manager, reported no disturbances at noon.

Charged With Morals Count Against Waukesha Man
Frederick W. Simpson of 515 Maple, a 39 year old from Waukesha, was charged in municipal court with statutory rape of a five year old. Preliminary hearing set for Friday, bail $5,000. Offense allegedly occurred December 13 in New Berlin. Simpson in custody at county jail, defended by counsel before Judge Scott Lowry. Five Suffer Injuries in County Auto Accidents
Five people were hurt in county and city auto crashes this weekend as ice on streets and highways contributed to collisions. One young sailor on leave, Donald Mittelstadt, 20, suffered possible ankle fracture and facial cuts after his car veered into a ditch near Hy. 16 east of Goerkes Corners. Three others sustained minor injuries when Orville Grubb's car slid into a snow covered road and hit a culvert near Okauchee. Geraldine Garter, 29, skidded into a parked car, then struck Rudy’s Grocery front in Menomonee Falls, while Harry Guenther, 61, escaped injury when his vehicle slid on ice, struck a rock, and rolled off Hy. W two miles east of Lannon. Additional prop erty damage incidents occurred at Broadway and The Strand after cars collided and a Pontiac skidded into a pole.
