Charge DuPont With Monopoly on Cellophane

The Justice Department filed an antitrust suit in federal court charging E I DuPont de Nemours Inc of Wilmington Del with unlawful monopoly of the cellophane industry in the United States. It named six foreign co conspirators and said DuPont produced about two thirds of U S cellophane sales in 1946. The suit seeks court orders to open the field to new entrants and require reasonable prices.

British Ship Deliverance Grounded Off Florida

The Leaman crew of the British motor ship Deliverance swam to shore through heavy surf after the 120 foot vessel ran aground 22 miles south of Mayport Florida. Mayor Edwin Honeyager Named League Officer

Mayor Edwin Honeyager of Cassville was named district vice president of the Wisconsin League of Municipalities by president R J Eckstein. He will advise cities and villages in Waukesha Jefferson and Dodge counties as part of the 38th state senatorial district and relay local issues to the league for study and solutions.
