Man Sentenced Five Years for 35 Cent Theft

City Skating Rinks Not Yet Ready for Use

Guy Wertz, director of city recreation, said the rinks are not ready due to inconsistent weather. A bottom ice layer at Roberta Park softened with rising temperatures as crews plan river clearing Monday for cold weather. Burglar Falls at Lumber Firm

A burglar entered Palmetier and Abell Lumber Co at 139 E Broadway during the night but did not loot the place. Entry came through a rear window after the thief scaled a fence along railroad tracks. The safe was untouched but drawers were ransacked, especially an alcove office. Police cited a second weekly burglary in Waukesha and noted a prior theater theft where cash was taken. Meyers parole denied in Washington.

Fire at Calhoun Service Station Causes $6000 Damage

A fire gutted the Calhoun Service Station on Highways 59 and KX early today, damaging stock and buildings.
