Two State Men Killed in Crash Near Portage Wisconsin
Two Baraboo men, Jerry Guck a 27 year old appliance salesman and James Holton a 32 year old advertising man, were killed in a head on collision eight miles south of Portage on U S Highway 1. Delores Bradley and Nadine Capener, both Baraboo residents, were injured. Bradley in critical condition with skull fractures and other injuries, Capener with a broken collarbone. The other driver Keith Solheim, 31, suffered a skull fracture and broken ribs and was listed in serious condition at Paynette hospital. Authorities said both cars appeared to be traveling fast and were demolished.

Convict Behrens of Tipsy Driving
Behrens a Waukesha spa operator was convicted of drunken driving and fined £90 plus costs by Judge Scott Lowry. A one year license revocation followed. Behrens, 50, of 139 S Grand Ave, was arrested Sunday after his car veered on Grand Avenue. Police described him as barefoot when detained and he declined a urine test. He testified he had six or seven goblets at a local tavern and drove home before attempting another drive.

Joseph Toenissen, 10, of Pewaukee Route 3, was struck by a car on August 2 causing leg injuries.
