Letter to the editor laments the Provincial Trustees Convention and urges a bottom up reform. It critiques language debate priorities, calls out public apathy, and proposes forming a local Educational Association embracing trustees and interested citizens to lead future action.
A large crowd gathered at Watrous Auto and Machine Co on March 5 to see a Chevrolet expert, Mr. Clements, explain car parts with a body removed to show insides. The event aimed to educate owners on proper handling to reduce repairs during a parts shortage caused by the war. Snowy roads kept many farmers away, but the demonstration still drew strong local interest and support from the Chevrolet Motor Co in Western Canada.

A Friday Xena School dance featured Bannister, recently invalied from France, who received an address and a purse of money. The event included songs, a cheon, and a promptu program honoring his return from the front.
Poplar Park Friday evening features the seventh annual Concert of G G A with dialogues songs recitations comic sketches and a drama. A printed program goes on sale Monday for 25e admission. The same night the third Whist Drive of the season sees five tables in play with Miss J McIntyre and V Morrison as prize winners.
A letter laments vacant Town Council seats and a dormant Watrous Board of Trade. It urges residents, especially abler men, to revive civic effort and stop Watrous from becoming a back number. Outsiders see locals as lacking initiative despite railway and lake growth potential.
A largely attended meeting at the Parsonage voted thanks to retiring Treasurer Miss Leadbetter for faithful service since the branch’s start. Miss Alice Arnott was appointed to fill the vacancy. Donations for the month were strong and the society thanked Highwood Ladies Aid and the Kilmory School entertainment for gifts.
The church lists services with a morning sermon titled What I would if I should, a children’s sermon, Sunday School at 2.30 p.m., an Adult Bible Class, and an evening service at 7 p.m. featuring patriotic hymns, music, sermon, and a patriotic collection. Pastors J McLachlan and W Wilson invite all to attend.
Holy Communion and Sermon at Ilam with Sunday School at 3 p.m. Evening Prayer and Sermon follow. Vicar J R Cox and teacher A E Cook inviting all to attend. Xena resident spent weekend in town.
Officials consider allowing the secretary to temporarily handle most municipal work in Watrous amid a hurried petition. The move aims to avoid inconveniencing ratepayers while Watrous sits within the municipality. Conditions and conversations questioned the haste of the filing.
