New York September 3 Wilberforce Sully chairman of the American Malt corporation and organizer of the American Malting company was arrested on indictments by a federal grand jury in Wyoming charged with conspiracy to defraud the government in coal land acquisitions. Also seized were George W Dally Rufus T Ireland and Frederick T Wells. Four others Samuel Gebo John Nelson John B Wright and Thomas P McDonald are indicted in Wyoming and under arrest there. The arrests stem from coal land bureau findings and ensuing federal probes.
Waterloo relatives of Mrs. Frank Forney of Vinton reported her death the day before, after a long illness. Survived by husband and children, including Mrs. Herman Kegley and Miss Mela Forney of Waterloo. Miss Forney was visiting home when she died as two other department store workers faced losses in recent weeks.
The McKees Rocks strike at the Pressed Steel Car company in Pittsburgh ends after fifty three days. Over 6,000 workers win wage compromise and begin returning to work Thursday morning at a rate of about one thousand daily.
