Blackpool England Oct 22 Egbert Latham the French aviator flew a monoplane today against a thirty mile an hour gale circling the course twice. When Latham came abreast of the wind the monoplane was driven at an estimated eighty to a hundred miles an hour. He landed safely.

Ten men dead and two injured with one missing after an explosion in Rock Island Coal Mining No 10 near Hartshorne Oklahoma. Nine bodies recovered. Names include Joe Solis John Dombroski Joe Zetto James Totts Bro Dresdo Jack Jacobia Joseph Savage Dan Hughes William Framson and Anthony Orlando missing. A trapper boy James Johnson is likely fatally injured. Gas ignition from lamps when entering beyond a dead line is the suspected cause with sub boss Dan Hughes present.
