Thirty six Indies of the Vinton Relief coins answered the La Porte ladies invitation and spent a day in La Porte City. They were greeted at the depot and led to the Masonic hall where music dinner and conversation made the day pleasant. A baby was born to Mr and Mrs Charles Harkness October 15. Reverend J M Willis and wife return to Burr Oak Kansas after visiting their son Reverend F W Willis. Perry Abbott suffered a stroke of paralysis Saturday. Mr and Mrs B L Maxwell welcomed a baby girl Friday evening. Frank Wettstein of Cleveland returned home Saturday evening after visiting friends and relatives.

Henry Olrogge returned from Iowa City after taking his brother Carl to a hospital for surgery. brother's operation was successful. The Lutheran congregation near Littleton called Rev J Lorch of Mason City, a Bredow son-in-law, likely to accept. G Westphal and wife, east of the Wapsie river, visited Notting Sunday. Rev P Bredow held service at Lutheran near Littleton Sunday. another service next Sunday at 10 am conducted by Mr Bredow. August Widdel and wife of Waterloo were guests of August Fink last Sunday. No service at the Lutheran church here next Sunday. Parochial school of Rev P Bredow will be closed for four weeks due to corn harvest.
