Mrs Wim H Rupert died October 3 at 65 years, 1 month, 2 days. Funeral in M E church, interment at Rose Hill.

Porte City October 11 Mr and Mrs Simpson hosted thirty guests at a souvenir postal dinner at their Chestnut Street home Thursday evening October 10. Guests included Mrs BE Flemming of Ft Bryan Texas sister of Mr Sampson and Mrs A E Kline with daughter Besain who returned Thursday from a cast sightseeing trip.

Tama County Court Opens with Rich Docket and Local News

The October term of Tama County District Court opened Monday with Judge Parker presiding. The docket lists twelve criminal cases including five for narcotics selling against Parizek, Rick, Hach, Yarrett, and Bucher, and larceny cases against Cooper and Minders, plus horse stealing, highway obstruction, prostitution, and other charges. Four divorces are filed and fifty six probate cases remain for disposal. The grand jury has been active all week. Local notes include Mil White visiting from Traer after twenty years, now secretary of a Mason City elevator company considering a Traer elevator purchase, and John Howard selling eighty hogs with strong weights averaging over twenty dollars per head.

Oldest Iowa woman dies at 107 in Dubuque

Mary McManus aged 107, believed Iowa’s oldest woman, died at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged in Dubuque. Married in County Clare, Ireland ninety-one years ago, she had lived in the home for years. Husband died decades earlier. she had never been sick, apart from a brief illness before death.

Mrs C P Jones Dead in Minneapolis

Mrs. C P Jones, wife of bridge builder C P Jones, died September 28 in Minneapolis after a period of illness. The couple, long resident in Waterloo, had four children and were among Waterloo's early settlers. Mr. Jones continued bridge work in Minneapolis for 25 years with his son assisting. Death Ends Mrs Bandfield’s Long Suffering

Mrs. Arthur J. Bandfield died at 2 15 pm at 815 Witton Street Waterloo of cancer after over four years of illness. She was 51, born April 15 1866 near Janesville Iowa. Survived by husband and six children, three died young, plus four brothers and a sister. Funeral tomorrow at Grace M E Church Waterloo, then burial in Janesville. Her mother and father are deceased. She was a member of Grace church, formerly of the Methodist church of Janesville.
