Fire Threatens Greene as Livery Stable Burns
Greene October 9 Special Fire destroyed the McCracken Bros livery stable after starting at 10 o clock last night. The Hubler wagon shop was damaged and the fire threatened the business district for about an hour. Five horses perished and harnesses and contents were lost while carriages were saved. The small volunteer fire department could not fully control the blaze and the exact loss was not yet estimated.
