Independence on November 28 reports Tony Dusman escaped from the county jail by nitroglycerine blast on a door. Authorities suspect an outside ally from the city aided the escape. Dusman and accomplices robbed the Swan Parker jewelry store and fled down Independence streets with a third person present. Mrs Briggs, near Marie’s capture site, recalls seeing two men fleeing shortly after the blast.

Idwara Jennings a twelve year coahman for John C Stevenson and brother of a former Vice President attacked his employer in Bloomington on November 22. Stevenson wrestled the revolver away after Jennings declared he would blow his brains out. A struggle left Stevenson with a badly lacerated hand before two bystanders assisted and Jennings was restrained and turned over to police. Jennings, 55, once a Indiana lumberman, appeared demented.
Mrs. Mary Scott Hartje, living at a temporary home in Ligonier, learned by telephone that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court affirmed the lower court. She collapsed with relief, cried out in happiness, and asked that word be sent to her father. Hartje and counsel planned no further action, and remarks from Mr. Hartje's side were not provided.
