A Y Moore Passes Away In La Porte After Long Service
A Y Moore longtime La Porte resident and president of Black Hawk Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. died at 72 from diabetes after five days in bed. A pioneer settler of Eagle township, he helped found the county, served on the city council and as township trustee, and leaves a large family including Joe Moore of Spokane Falls and Mrs R B McQuilkin of La Porte. The funeral is set for Wednesday at his residence with his family in attendance.
